Good News Everybody: The 'Saddest Dog In The World' Has A New Home

Woohoo!

Would you like to start your weekend with some wonderful news? Of course you would. And do I have some good news? Of course I do.

The 'saddest dog in the world' has found herself a new home, meaning she won't have be to be put to sleep. See, the world isn't a terrible place after all. Just ignore everything else that's going on and focus on little Lana.

Look at this face:

Such a good girl.

In case you missed it, Lana is was given the heart-breaking nickname 'saddest dog in the world' back in 2015, when she was dropped off by her family at a shelter and a member of staff took this photo:

The photo quickly went viral and Lana was soon inundated with offers of a brand new home. Devastatingly, her adoptive family returned her to the shelter earlier this month.

In a Facebook post Rescue Dogs Match wrote: "May 14 is Lana's birthday (she will be 3). Please help find her a foster or forever home. Lana only has until May 20th."

After the 20th, the centre said it's likely she would be put to sleep as she's spent so long at the shelter and my heart, along with thousands of others, broke.

And it looked like it might be a tough task finding somewhere for her, because despite having the cutest face I've ever seen, Lana isn't used to being around people.

Brenda Dobranski, founder of Rescue Dogs Match, told The Dodo: "Lana's adoption did not work out because people want a dog they can pet and play with.

"Lana is a silly fun girl but she is not the type of dog that will let you give belly rubs to and sleep in bed with. She loves to have a job."

However, just one day after writing the post, we get the fantastic news that the cute pooch has a new home and let's just keep everything possible crossed that this is her forever home.

The Canadian-based rescue centre wrote on its webpage: "We are happy to report that Lana has found a foster home and a new training program. RDM would like to thank everyone for their concern and support and we will keep you updated."

I will be checking for updates daily, don't worry, guys.
