The Undertaker Retires And The Hardy Boyz Return At WrestleMania 33

Was this one of the most dramatic WrestleMania's ever?

WrestleMania is the biggest night of the year in the wrestling calendar. For the biggest night you need the biggest stars (past and present) and you also need a sprinkle of drama.

It's wrestling, this is what we've come to expect.

Not only did John Cena ask Nikki Bella to marry him...

But the Hardy Boyz (aka Matt and Jeff) made a welcome return.

For most of us, the Attitude Era was the greatest time in wrestling's recent history and no-one personified that era as well as Matt and Jeff Hardy.

'Team Extreme' were part of some of the most memorable matches in history including TLC 2 at WrestleMania X-Seven when Jeff took one of the greatest spots ever in Mania.

The brothers have been out of WWE for quite some time, making a name for themselves in TNA in recent years away from wrestling's biggest promotion.

However, at WrestleMania 33, they surprised everyone by entering a ladder match for the Raw tag team titles and won on their comeback.

After an incredible swanton bomb off a 20ft ladder from Jeff that left the younger brother broken, Matt climbed the ladder to grab the belts and beat the teams of Enzo and Cass, Sheamus and Cesaro, and Gallows and Anderson to become seven time champions.

But there's more. The Undertaker's match against Roman Reigns (he lost) was the main event, but something else even more dramatic happened...

Taker retired.

He dropped his hat, trenchcoat and gloves into the centre of the ring. When everything was taken down after the event, his clothes remained.

It was emotional, it was (kind of) expected, but certainly a WrestleMania to remember.

Thank you, Taker. And thanks WrestleMania! That was quite a show.
