Ed Sheeran got a 'Galway Girl' tattoo but it turns out that it's not spelled correctly. At all.
Actress Saoirse Ronan appears in the video for Ed's Irish-themed single, and was asked by Ed to write 'Galway Girl' in her handwriting on his arm for a tattoo to mark the occasion. They were in Galway to record the music video last week.

Deciding to make the most of this incredibly rare opportunity, she pulled a prank on him. Well, you would, wouldn't you? It's not like Ed's known for his brilliant tattoos, they're all a little bit shit but that's what he likes. Anyway, he told The Sun: "When we were filming it, I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting, saying Galway Girl from her point of view.
"It actually says Galway Grill. G-R-I-L-L. She really took the piss out of me - full on."

He admitted the prank while in Glasgow on Sunday after kicking off the UK leg of his world tour.

He said: "I haven't actually told anyone that yet.
"I'm actually quite proud of her. It's the kind of thing I would do."
Ed appeared on the front cover of GQ earlier this year, and showed off his collection of tattoos to the magazine in the form of a video.

He explained a few of the more unusual ones. First up, LADZ On Tour.
Obviously, we love this one as it's basically him saying that he loves us. Right? Okay, we may not have a 'Z' in our name but we'll take it.

He got this Japanese symbol to commemorate the first time he played in Japan.
In his own words, he said: "I think I know what it means, but it might be like Yo Sushi or something."
This one was a nod to Australia after playing there.

He then showed off his lion which caused quite a bit of a fuss on Twitter when he first revealed it. People couldn't believe that he'd got a massive lion on his chest for some reason.
He said: "The one that means the most to me is this lion and it's the one I got the most stick for. They go, 'well what about when you're an old man?' and I'm like, 'I'll looking fucking cool when I'm older. I might be wrinkly but have you ever seen your grandad with his top off?'.
"The reason why I got the lion was for Wembley; it was the biggest achievement I've done."
Finally, he showed off this little love-heart with a line through it, that's pretty self-explanatory.

I'm sure he could write a book about his tattoos and what each one means. For example, he has a tattoo of a Heinz ketchup bottle as he clearly knows that it is the superior condiment for all foods. I got taken the piss out of the other day because I put ketchup on a roast dinner... but if it's good enough for Ed, it's good enough for me.
