He's decided to camp instead of go VIP.

If you're heading off to Glastonbury next weekend and you reckon you'd love a pint with Johnny Depp, I've got some good news for you.

You might end up pitching your tent next to the Pirates of the Caribbean star.

As if the idea of heading off to a muddy field with thousands of people couldn't sound any more appealing, this bombshell is dropped.

According to his mate, filmmaker Julien Temple, Johnny fancies getting the full festival experience by snubbing VIP treatment.

Speaking to 3am, Temple, who has known Johnny since the 80s, said: "He's never been to Glastonbury, so that was our big selling point, that it involved seeing the festival."

So is he staying for the full five days and getting a tent? Hell. Yes. He continued: "Yes, he is. I'm not disclosing the location. But he's in for a penny in for a pound. He maybe won't be there on the last day, but he's into checking out the whole thing. He'll be in his element."

You may be thinking that this is a pretty odd decision as he's sure to get mobbed the whole time, but it seems that his management has thought about this and seemingly taken a leaf from Harry Potter's book and come up with a bunch of decoys.

He added: "We're going to have a load of decoys going around."

So maybe don't lose your shit as soon as you see someone dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Johnny will be introducing his film 'The Libertine' on Thursday, and will then be watching himself from the comfort of a VIP limo in the drive in style cinema. So maybe he's not completely giving up the lifestyle...

Temple concluded: "Johnny's our inaugural guest of honour so he's introducing the whole thing.

"We're trying to have a rock'n'roll vibe and he is perfect for that. We couldn't have asked for anyone better."

Fair enough. If you manage to wangle a pint with one of Hollywood's biggest stars, we're very jealous. Just make sure you're taking loads of rum with you.
