The 'Deadpool' Blooper Reel Is Better Than A Lot Of Superhero Films

I'm not saying Deadpool is the best superhero film ever, but the blooper reel is better than some comic book movies of recent years.

When it was released in February of last year it was an instant hit, and was slated as the first ever R-rated film of its kind, grossing over $783 million worldwide and breaking numerous box-office records.

Ryan Reynolds was a huge part of bringing the character of Wade Wilson to life, spending a long time perfecting the role. The film also used comical ways of breaking the fourth wall, leaving 'Pool to talk to the audience as time stopped.

Basically, it was fucking brilliant. It was funny, action packed, dramatic and funny again. The bloopers, which featured on the Blu-Ray release of the film, have made their way onto the internet and they're nearly as good as the film.

Brilliant.

There are some mistakes, but what steals the show is the amount of alternative gags used until the right one is found.

It's true that most of us have only just got over the brilliance of the first Deadpool. And as we all calm down, the hysteria can begin to build again as a sequel is on the horizon.

As the first was brought to our cinemas many people flashed back to the first installment of seeing Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson. In fact, his first time out as The Merc With A Mouth was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The movie where they sewed up Deadpool's mouth.

It was pretty disappointing all round, but director Gavin Hood explained eventually why they got that so wrong, saying that new film allowed the character "to be who he really is, unencumbered by, you know, PG-13 requirements and a great deal of marketing debate".

We'll be getting more of Deadpool in his proper form next year on June 1, which is stupendous news.
