Aldi is quite possibly one of the greatest creations known to man.

The German supermarket chain is cheap as chips, logically laid out, constantly winning awards for its own brand products and now its bringing back what is perhaps its crowning glory.

The discount supermarket is bringing its Big Daddy Rump Steak back to shelves all across the UK on August 24th, just in time for Bank Holiday.

This extra-thick cut is 100 per cent British beef while also being 100g heavier than its closest rival. And at less than a fiver, it's an absolute bargain.

Aldi's Tony Baines said: "We just had to bring it back, and the August Bank Holiday seemed like the perfect opportunity for this.

"This premium British rump steak is an example of Aldi's commitment to offering quality, locally-sourced products at amazing low prices, once again allowing customers to make substantial savings on luxury products without compromise."

In an attempt to keep up with demand, Aldi has doubled its stock from the last time the steak was on sale, but it has warned that "once it's gone, it's gone". Best get in their quickly then.

The steak sold out in minutes when it last hit stores at the beginning of the summer, with customers waiting outside shop doors in the morning to bag the bargain beef.

This isn't the first time the chain has had the public going wild for a crazy bargain. In the past, Aldi has wowed customers with things like a £29.99 pool for your back garden, a pizza oven and even a hot tub.

It's all quality stuff, too. In fact, some of Aldi's discount products have blown the competition out of the water and bagged numerous awards.

Most recently, Aldi's 10 quid gin was called one of the best in the world, and consistently beat its rivals in blind taste tests.

A spokesperson at the International Spirits Challenge said: "The display of awards achieved by Aldi this year at the International Spirits Challenge was fantastic. They consistently showcased high quality products in the blind tastings, which demonstrates that you don't have to compromise on price to enjoy great tasting drinks.

"As a collective result across all categories from the competition, the supermarket undoubtedly was this year's winner of the 'Supermarket Own Branded Spirits Range of the Year!'"

Tony Baines said: "Receiving medals for our spirits is a fantastic achievement and it is great to see our spirits range being praised so highly by experts.

"Being awarded a title such as 'Supermarket Own Brand Spirits Range of the Year' is something that not only reflects the quality of our products but also the hard work that our UK-based buying team put into drinks retailing every single day."
