Someone Has Recreated 'GoldenEye 007' With Modern Graphics

This looks sick.

Nowadays games are great. There are plenty of open world's that we can explore from the comfort of our sofas, as well as going online and using VR headsets that are becoming more and more popular.

But now and again there's just no replacement for what we used to play.

Back when all we had was a Nintendo 64, a GameBoy or a PS1, the graphics weren't great, the controls were stodgy, and none of them represented reality, but they were amazing.

GoldenEye 007 was very much at the forefront of that nostalgia, as was the likes of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the dragon.

Before there was Shipment on CoD 4, or Rust on Modern Warfare 2, there was split screen on GoldenEye, and that's where you went to solve any problems.

Some people believe that the game is best left untouched these days, as a lot of others undergo remasters. While it does make sense to leave it in all of its oblong, blurry, original glory, it would be interesting to see what it'd be like with modern graphics on an up to date console.

Aspiring video game designer Jude Wilson's curiousity peaked, and so they re-imagined the Facility level, using a graphics engine to make it look like it's playable on Xbox One or Playstation 4.

Looks pretty fucking good, doesn't it?

If you fancy playing a somewhat updated version of the 1997 classic on your computer, then hey, look no further.

A team, who can only be referred to as legends, have updated GoldenEye: Source, a mod which let's fans play the game with modern graphics.

The unofficial remake, which is free to download on PC, features 25 recreated maps, 10 multiplayer modes, and up to date versions of 28 weapons. GoldenEye: Source was created using the same set of tools that helped create Counter Strike and Half-Life games, so we're definitely on to a winner.

The mod doesn't have a single player campaign, but fuck it, who's bothered? The game was mostly used for multiplayer anyway.

To download the mod you'll need at least 4GB of RAM running on Windows 7 or later, so if your computer is cluttered with shite, clear it out and make room. This is important.

What are you waiting for?!
