The video would suggest so

As the Far East heightens its tensions surrounding North Korea, Japan and South Korea have been on high alert.

Last week, Japan confirmed that a North Korea mid-range Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) had landed in its waters after a test led by Kim Jong-un.

The United States also stated that it would be testing a similar missile. It also flew two B-1B bombers over the Korean Peninsula as a show of strength.

Now, South Korea has also launched a practice missile, but it may have come with saddening consequences.

In the video, the missile can be seen to hit the target pad with superb accuracy, but in the aftermath, a figure can be seen at the entrance of the tunnel.

As the Hyunmoo Missile II lands, smoke and fire engulf the tunnel, and seemingly take the guard with them.

Some South Koreans commenting on the footage, released by the Republic Of Korea's (South Korea) Ministry of Defence, questioned whether one of their own had been blown up, but others believe it is a mannequin, designed to show the devastating impact of the rocket.

A spokesman for the South Korean president, Moon Jae-in, said the missiles 'will be a key component' if needed to counter any strike from North Korea.

The US launched their Minuteman III missile from California's Vandenburg Air Force Base on Wednesday, with the threat of North Korea now being able to hit New York with a missile.

The Air Force Global Strike Command said a single re-entry vehicle travelled roughly 4,200 miles across the Pacific Ocean before hitting a target in the Kwajalein Atoll.

A statement from Air Force said: "These test launches verify the accuracy and reliability of the ICBM weapon system, providing valuable data to ensure a continued safe, secure and effective nuclear deterrent."

It's the United States' fourth missile test of its kind this year, while North Korea have tested 14 already in 2017.

As the secretive state ramps up its war of words on America, the US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, responded: "We do not seek a regime change, we do not seek a collapse of the regime, we do not seek an accelerated reunification of the peninsula, we do not seek an excuse to send our military north of the 38th parallel.

"We are not your enemy... but you a presenting an unacceptable threat to us, and we have to respond. And we hope that at some point they will begin to understand that and we would like to sit and have dialogue with them."
