This Is What Would Happen If Everyone On Earth Jumped At The Same Time

We need answers.

Life is full of utterly useless questions, that we 100% need answers to.

What's that little pocket inside your pocket on your jeans actually for? Why is there a hole in a Bic pen lid? Why do lads always put their hands down their pants?

All equally unimportant, all equally interesting.

But now I pose you this question: what would happen if everyone on earth jumped at the same time?

There's no way that it'd ever really happen, but I must fucking know what the result would be.

It turns out that it'd have quite a large impact.

According to Business Insider, if everyone jumped one foot in the air and landed at the same time, it'd create the loudest possible noise on earth.

Astrophysicist Paul Sutter, from The Ohio State University and physicist Mark Boslough at Sandia National Laboratories, told Business Insider: "When we all landed after our jump, we'd release a massive amount of energy into the ground. This would result in a clapping sound of 200 decibels - the loudest possible sound ever created on earth. Spoiler alert: this could shatter your ear drums."

They also went on to say that if we jumped near a body of water, the impact could create a tsunami. Jumping inland could be equally destructive, as it could cause an earthquake with a 4-8 magnitude range, which would really fuck up some shit, depending on high up the Richter that is.

Surely I'm not the only one who actually wants to try this to see if it actually happens?

Also, if this did ever happen, and we didn't all jump to Van Halen's Jump, we've missed a really good opportunity there. House of Pain Jump Around is also an option.
