Andy Murray has now become the new world number one, but in rather bitter sweet circumstances.

The Scot was set to face Milos Raonic today in the semi-finals of the Paris Masters, but the Canadian has withdrawn from the match through injury.

Murray will automatically go through to the final and will leapfrog Novak Djokovic at the head of the ATP rankings.

The 29-year-old will face American and big server John Isner in the final, and it's probable that he has already managed to drain all sense of excitement out of the occasion with his monotone voice and aptitude for dullness.

Congratulations, Andy!
