A Level Student Opens Results On Live TV And It's Not Good News

'Win or lose we're on the booze.'

Today is A Level results day and up and down the country teenagers are opening their envelopes and either making plans to celebrate or drown their sorrows.

You've got to have some pretty strong confidence in your results to open them live on telly, so fair play to Liam Scroggie and Joe Sylvester, from Winstanley College in Wigan, who did just that on Good Morning Britain.

Liam needed at least an A and two Bs to get into Queen's University, Belfast, to read politics. Sadly, for our pal Liam, he found he'd been awarded two Bs, one C and one D. They are still good results, but not enough for him to secure his place and he'll now have to go through clearing.

Asked by the presenter what his next step was, Liam said: "I don't know yet, but when this is finished I'll have a look."

It would be devastating news for anyone, but Liam wasn't going to cry about it on telly. Nope, (hero) Liam said: "At the end of the day, it's win or lose we're on the booze, isn't it?"

As he spoke, a fellow student appeared to be taking his advice very seriously, and was spotted swigging from a hip flask.

Viewers took to Twitter to commend Liam for his chilled out reaction and the unnamed dude for swigging from a hip flask on breakfast TV:

If you're getting your results today and find yourself in a similar situation to Liam, don't worry about it.
