Aldi Steps Up The Game Again With Amazing Steak Deal

Is there anything that this supermarket can't do?

We're in full exam swing at the moment so pay attention to the following question, you may be set it in an upcoming test.

Question: Where in the world can you buy a hot tub for £299 and a pizza over for under £100?

Answer: Our beloved Aldi.

Now for bonus points can you provide a sole reason why the German supermarket chain is so great?

The answer, my friends, is because it has just launched an 18-inch Tomahawk steak, and it's a whole £14 cheaper than Waitrose.

With the weather hotting up over the bank holiday weekend, this could be the perfect excuse to get down to your nearest Aldi, by a steak and whack it on the barbie.

The huge joint of beef, bigger than the average forearm, is now on sale for £12.99 per kg at Aldi. For reference, that same cut would cost you £26.99 at Waitrose.

The rib-eye cut costs £65.00 per kg at trendy London steak restaurant Hawksmoor, and that's before adding the chips and veg. Pretty sure at those prices it'd be cheaper to buy a cow, raise it, and kill it yourself.

The Tomahawk steak is a cut of rib-eye beef that includes the rib bone, which, when cooked, adds flavour and succulence to the meat.

It's named after the tomahawk axe that it resembles and is sometimes branded as the cowboy steak.

Aldi's £299 hot tub received great praise when it came out, and comes with all the known features of powerful jets as well as a heater and a lockable, insulating cover to keep that water warm when you're not using it. Marvellous.

The pizza oven is just another step up for the supermarket. It's almost £200 cheaper than its competitors, weighs in at 26kg, boasts a temperature gauge, flue damper, two-part chrome-plated cooking grill, and can impressively cook meat and fish, as well as pizzas.

In fact, that gives me an idea. Why not cook your massive £12.99 steak in your £99.99 pizza oven? Genius.

And if you're interested in the stats: Aldi picked up two awards in the Grocer Gold Awards 2017: Own-Label Range Of The Year and (the big one) The Grocer Of The Year.
