Morrisons Recalls Green Beans After Customers 'Find Pieces Of Metal Inside Them'

Ouch.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of vegetables. My plate was always stacked sky high with green stuff as a kid and I have since had negative views about this supposed healthy food.

Now I have a real reason to avoid them.

UK supermarket Morrisons has issued a nationwide recall of 170 gram trimmed beans because they could contain small pieces of metal. While you might think that tiny specs of metal aren't harmful - check out what customers have found:

The recall affects any packets which display the dates between April 22-24 2017.

A statement from Morrisons read: "We are asking all customers who have bought these 'Display Until' dates of this product not to consume them and to return it to their nearest Morrisons store where they will receive a full refund.

"We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety."

According to the Sun, these horrifying pictures were taken by a customer in Glasgow and another in Manchester.

Mancunian mum, Sarah, told the newspaper: "I've just got over cancer and as a result I lost a lot of my teeth.

"My mouth is very sensitive and I bit into the green bean and it was there in the centre. It stabbed me in the gum.

"I dread to think if it was my four-year-old little girl who had been eating it or another child."

She took the product back and was offered a £5 voucher while Morrisons investigates the matter.

Just yesterday, it was reported that Sunderland mum, Vikki Maguire-Grant, noticed something shiny after her two-year-old daughter bit into her Kinder egg over the weekend. Check it out:

Vikki, from Sunderland, told the Manchester Evening News: "I do not know if it's a needle or pin as one end is embedded. I could not see any holes anywhere on the box but I trust the experts to find this.

"I have been in touch with Kinder who have given me full faith it will be fully investigated to determine if it was made with the egg - which I since think is unlikely - after they explained the production line and metal detectors used."

She bought the egg from Asda which said it is investigating the incident.
