He wasn't happy.

I can't lie, I loved throwing the odd sicky when I was at school to stay at home eating tea and toast and watching Jeremy Kyle.

Sam Stannard on the other hand never missed a day of school in his damn life.

Because of this impressive achievement, the teenager was entered into a prize draw each year for students who achieved 100 per cent attendance.

The prize up for grabs was an Apple iPad - so when his family booked to go on a skiing holiday, he decided to miss it so that he could maintain his perfect record and be in with a chance of winning the top prize.

However, when the ceremony was held at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy in Brighton, another kid was awarded the iPad and poor Sam was given nothing but a certificate and a pen.

His dad, Lee, 52, told The Sun: "He was a bit disappointed to have got through the whole of secondary school and not miss a lesson, to only be awarded a fountain pen.

"You would have thought for the last day of term prize draw, they would have given him the iPad.

"No one would have known any different if they had just awarded it to him.

"I was down-hearted for him."

Sam added: "My family goes on holiday skiing most years, and when my whole family went in February, I didn't go.

"Every term I was entered and I wasn't picked once, I was a bit unlucky. But that's the way it goes.

"If I could go back I probably would have gone skiing."

It's an outrage if you ask me. #Justice4Sam.
