Manchester United Rumoured To Be Getting Tinder As New Sponsor

Perfect match?

Football and dating apps might seem like an odd combination but that doesn't seem to have put off Tinder, which is reported to have had discussions with Manchester United for a new sponsorship deal worth £12 million ($15.8m).

On second thoughts, maybe the two are a perfect match. Footie fans can download the app and find a new partner after their current one dumps them for spending too much time going the match and fucking about with their Fantasy Football team when the new season starts.

According to the Daily Mail, the company are believed to be interested in becoming United's first ever sleeve sponsor - a new chance for Premier League clubs to rake in more cash, which starts next season.

The new sponsors will have a place on the left sleeve, with the Premier League logo staying put on the right.

Nine other clubs have already signed sleeve deals, but none for anything like as much as the rumoured £12m Tinder are reported to be offering. Seems like United should swipe right on this deal.

The smaller sleeve sponsorships are valued at 20 percent of the main sponsor. United already have a sponsorship with Chevrolet worth an eye-watering £50m ($66.1m), so £12m from Tinder is about the going price.

Tinder, which has 50 million users, is hoping to adopt a more mainstream image, the paper reports, and attract more users from across the globe. With United's huge international following, it could be a perfect partner for the Silicon Valley-based company.

Elsewhere, the dating app has already begun a sponsorship deal with Italian club Napoli.
