UK Wrestling Promoter Offers CM Punk $1 Million For A One-Off Appearance

It's been a while since CM Punk last featured inside a wrestling ring, having traded the ropes for the cage of UFC in 2014.

Punk, real name Phil Brooks, put in time and effort for his MMA debut, but he unfortunately lost in the first round to Mickey Gall.

There were doubts over whether the former WWE superstar can cut it in Dana White's powerhouse promotion. In the lead up to his fight the UFC updated us on his progress in video diaries, with one sparring video showing that he might not have been up to the test.

Despite this, he gave it a go and you can only respect that, but his presence is missed back in WWE.

Any time the show hits Punk's hometown of Chicago, or the fans just want to piss Vince McMahon off, they'll chant in unison for the former leader of the Straight Edge Society.

Back in February the audience were treated not to Punk's return, but to the return of The Rock. Trying to give them what they wanted, The Great One rang Punk in the middle of the ring and then asked the crowd to chant his name.

The Rock leaves CM Punk a voicemail after RAW goes off air.

Sadly he didn't answer, but a message was left. One that was received loud and clear:

Despite the desire to see him enter the squared circle again, it's probably not going to happen any time soon.

But that hasn't stopped the creator of the UK's 5 Star Wrestling promotion company, Daniel Hinkles, offering the straight edge superstar $1 million to make a one-off appearance, as the Sun reports.

"We've been trying to contact CM Punk on and off for well over a year. We wanted him on the first show we did in Edinburgh in 2015," Hinkles said. "I've tried going through friends in the industry, I've gone through his website and sent dozens of emails but the opportunity has never been this big.

"We want to offer CM Punk $1 million dollars (£770,000) to come and join the 5 Star Wrestling tour starting June 10.

"It's a genuine offer. We'd love to hear back from the man himself. We want to do this with him."

The idea is that Brooks will feature in the world's first ever 128-man wrestling tournament, which starts at Liverpool's Echo Arena.

Go on, Punk. It'll be a laugh and you'll make a million - what's there to think about here?
