Heartbreak.

Heartbreak is something a lot of us will experience in our lives but some cases are worse than others.

For example, when you cried in the park when you were 15 because the girl you fancied kissed your mate will seem like nothing when you consider a 72-year-old grandmother's 27-year-old husband was denied a visa.

Angela Nwachukwu met CJ from Nigeria in February 2015 on Facebook. After hitting it off, they met face-to-face when she flew to Africa to marry him just two months later.

They enjoyed a romantic time together when tying the knot but when Angela arrived back in Dorset she was disappointed when CJ's application for a visa was denied on two occasions.

It cost the 72-year-old £20,000 ($25,700) to visit her husband, who's 45 years her junior, as well as trying to get him over to Blighty, but it seems like all of it was wasted.

"I saw that a young man had sent me a friend request on Facebook and I couldn't believe my luck," grandmother Angela said. "I did wonder why on earth he had added me, but I accepted and he sent me a message straight away telling me how lovely my profile photo was.

"We chatted for hours, about our families and each others' hobbies - it was like we'd known each other for years."

Angela's sons were a bit worried that CJ, a computer engineer, might be a scammer and looking to get money out of their mother. However, after scouring social media to find out more about him, they found that he was genuine.

He proposed to their mother via a video call in March 2015. He bought the rings as Angela prepared her outfit and flight to Nigeria.

"I was so taken a back when he asked me to marry him out of the blue. There was such an amazing chemistry between us, I knew he was my soulmate," she said. "We'd planned to wait until the wedding night to consummate our relationship, but we couldn't keep our hands off each other!"

Despite applying for a tourist visa to visit his wife, CJ has been denied as authorities believe he wouldn't leave the country.

Because of this, Angela has visited him in Africa while still holding out hope they'll one day live together.

She said: "I was so determined to get him a visa I even hired lawyers to fight the decision. It cost so much money but it was just no use."

They're now trying to sort out a student visa for CJ so that he can complete his masters degree.
