Hen Party Kicked Off Flight For Wearing 'Offensive T Shirts'

Oh dear.

For some reason, people love to get personalised t-shirts to mark special occasions.

It happens a lot on holiday, as if big groups of people drinking, shouting and singing isn't drawing enough attention.

Often, when it's a stag party or a hen do, there are profanities printed on the shirts - sometimes prompting the need for a quick change in the toilets.

This hen party learned the hard way about personalised clothing as they were kicked off a plane for their choice of words.

Flying from East Midlands Airport, they were supposed to be catching a flight to Majorca - however, staff stopped them because their apparel was deemed too 'offensive'.

They were asked to cover up the shirts that said 'Bitches on Tour', and were then allowed to board the plane. Sadly, however, the problem reared its head again when they took their seats.

"We sat in our seats and some of the group took their jackets off. The writing is on the back so we didn't think it would be a problem whilst we were sitting down," said Lauren Clarke, 36. "Then a few members of the group got taken to the front of the plane where they were told they had to leave.

"We hadn't been drinking and we weren't being rowdy. We weren't even sitting together on the plane.

"The air hostesses didn't seem to mind so much but it was a member of management who had said that we all had to leave.

"The lady who kicked us off said we had to pay for another flight too."

Emma Green, the bride-to-be, said the ordeal ruined her hen party as they all had to pay for new flights from different airports.

"It has completely ruined the whole experience," she said. "We have lost a day already and everybody is really tired from flying in from different airports. Some didn't land until 2am this morning.

"It's going to be really hard to enjoy ourselves now. We are just gutted that it came to this when there was no need.

"Part of me doesn't even want to get married now.

"I just feel like something will end up going wrong on the day.

"We want an apology and compensation from Jet2 because we have been treated appallingly."

However, the airline company claim that staff repeatedly asked the gang to change their clothing before removing them from the plane.

A Jet2.com spokesman said: "The group were asked to either wear different attire or cover up the offensive language, and were reminded of this on numerous occasions, including by the airport police whilst in the departures area.

"Once in the cabin, and in the presence of families and young children, several members of the group decided to ignore these repeated warnings, at which point our crew took the decision to remove them from the flight."

Police were reportedly called to East Midlands airport but no arrests were made.

Let this be a lesson to all those who think it's a good idea to print their own clothes.
