Man Vows Never To Shop At Aldi Again As He Can't Buy Alcohol

You cannot beat Aldi. Where else can you go for a loaf of bread and come out with a shoe polishing kit, a bottle of champagne, four cans of lager, a full chicken and a bag of popcorn for less than a tenner?

There's very little that can deter shoppers away from the delights that await you behind the supermarket's doors. It might not be as posh and upscale as Waitrose, but it does the job, and does it well.

However one customer came across an issue that may see them never return, such is the severity of the problem that befell them.

Twitter user Ethan came across a till which had a sign at the end stating that "No alcohol is able to be served on this till. Sorry for any inconvenience."

Since he couldn't get his hands on a four pack of exquisite Galahad export lager, or a 70cl of Johnny Hopkins spiced rum, he was rather upset.

So much so that it led him to say those sinful words: "Well I won't be shopping in Aldi anymore."

The pain. No. You can't do it. It's too much.

Aldi responded to potentially losing one of their customers, saying: "Hi Ethan, thanks for your comment. If a colleague raises concerns about a job they have been asked to do, our approach is to try and find a solution.

"In this case we put out a sign on the till, letting customers know that our colleague would not be serving alcohol.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused and will try to ensure all colleagues are placed in the most suitable positions moving forwards.

"We hope this answers your concerns."

Come on, Ethan. There's no problem too big that can't be resolved between the two of you. How about talking it out over a bottle of Glen Marnoch Spreyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky, which costs just £17.49 ($22.50) but was awarded a gold medal in blind taste tests at the Spirits Business Scotch Whisky Masters?...

And maybe that can be paired with a meal with a massive, 454g slab of prime British steak for a mere £4.99? And then once the food goes down perhaps you can enjoy a few laughs on a 1952 x 140m slip 'n' slide retailing at a generous £12.99 ($17)?

There's always a way to work out your problems.
