A motorist travelling behind a Porsche in London has captured the incredible moment the driver was robbed at knifepoint in the middle of the street.

Two moped scooters stopped next to the white luxury vehicle on Ladywell Road in Lewisham earlier this month, and demanded the driver hand over his belongings. The pillion passenger on the first moped appears to threaten or scare the Porsche driver.

Within seconds, the driver hands over his watch and the two scooters make a U-turn before speeding off in the other direction.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police has told the Daily Mail: "Police were called at approximately 18.30hrs on Thursday, 6 July to reports of a robbery in Ladywell Road, SE13.

"The victim, a man in his 30s, was driving in his car when he stopped at traffic lights. Two mopeds with two males on each pulled up next to his car - the pillion passenger of one of the mopeds brandished a knife through the open car window and robbed the victim of his watch.

"Both mopeds then drove away. The victim called police - he was not injured."

Gemma Pendley captured the shocking footage on her dashcam and is heard in the video shouting: "I've got you on camera. I've got it all on camera."

Police are now asking for anyone with information about the brazen daylight robbery to come forward.

This incident happened only a few days before another frightening moped-related robbery, again in London. It was also captured on camera, with footage showing a man in a helmet trying to steal another person's scooter - although in this case the robbery was unsuccessful.

As members of the public attempt to intervene, the alleged thief jumps onto the back of a different motorcycle and rides off. A JustGiving page has been set up for the victim, Steve, after he broke his foot and had his moped damaged during the incident.

Metropolitan Police have just recently busted a moped gang, who reportedly carried out 103 crimes in 18 days, according to the London Evening Standard. The alleged thieves, aged 15, 16 and 17, are accused of robbing pedestrians in Westminster, Camden, Islington, and Kensington and Chelsea.

The trio is also alleged to have used a crowbar and hammer to threaten their victims during their crime spree.

The London newspaper adds that Metropolitan Police figures estimate moped-enabled crime has increased sevenfold in two years, from 1,053 incidents in 2014 to 7,668 last year.
