When you go to Maccies you expect only a few things. First and foremost, you expect a burger. The quality of the burger is irrelevant, just so long as it comes quick that's fine.

You expect the food to be filling and for a half decent price, too. Nowadays it's hard to put your finger on what a "half decent price" actually is, but so long as it's under a tenner that's generally okay.

The more you can get for your money is key, as well. Some people opt for the 20 chicken nuggets share box, which is fine, but there's no variety in it, unless your willing to spend a bit more. Most go for the Big Mac.

The Big Mac is like your archetypal defensive midfielder. It can often pass under the radar in comparison to the pacey wingers and showboating attacking mids, but you just cannot win games without your DMF. He'll dictate the pace, dominating his area of pitch, making sure everything is ticking over nicely and all going smoothly.

A lot of the time he's underrated because he's not on the score sheet, but he will get his plaudits from the true football fans. That's the Big Mac.

And, as all footy fans will know, improvement is always needed, no matter how complete you might think things are.

That's why McDonald's have gone and made a BIGGER Big Mac.

As you'd expect, though, it's not available here in the UK. No, of course not. But over in Japan they have the Grand Big Mac and the Giga Big Mac, due to popularity from their previous limited edition times in stores last year.

According to the Japanese Maccies website the Grand Big Mac is a "beef patty with a special sesame seeded three-tiered buns and is 1.3 times the size of a Big Mac.

It has all the usual stuff, such as "mild mellow creamy cheese, shakijaki lettuce, onion, pickles, mustard sweet relish and other secret original Big Mac Sauce."

The Giga Big Mac on the other hand is a different kettle of fish altogether. If you think of the original as Lucas Leiva, and the Grand as Nemanja Matic, the Giga is N'Golo Kante.

According to the site its "beef patty volume is more than 2.8 times than the normal Big Mac."

It is, apparently, literally "giga - sized" and "you would like to try more than eating, satisfying, and feeling of achievement" - whatever that means.

Anyway, put me down for a trip to Japan.
