In years gone by, when everyone would still buy newspapers, we all have to admit that we always had a quick flick through the obituaries.

We're all nosey bastards, to be honest, and every now and again there'd be something of interest in there.

Chris Connor, a 67-year-old Irish-American man who unfortunately recently passed away, was given an obituary that is of interest to us all, because it's hilarious.

Before his death he'd asked his daughter and cousin if they'd pen the tongue-in-cheek message and it has since gone viral.

Caitlin, his daughter, and Liz, his cousin, labelled him a "ladies' man, game slayer, and outlaw" and titled the obituary 'Irishman Dies from Stubbornness, Whisky'.

"There were a million other stories I wish we could have put together, but the point was to get the stories out," Caitlin told the Boston Globe.

The note talks of his love for alcohol, saying that "Absolut vodka and Simply Orange companies are devastated by the loss of Connors", but also pays homage to his lust for life.

"As much as people knew hanging out with him would end in a night in jail or a killer screwdriver hangover, he was the type of man that people would drive 16 hours at the drop of a dime to come see," it said in the message.

The obituary ended with: "The way he died is just like he lived: he wrote his own rules, he fought authority and he paved his own way. And if you said he couldn't do it, he would make sure he could."

This is great.
