A porn star was left with a massive gash on her foot after a shark bit her during an underwater shoot.

Molly Cavalli was inside a shark cage promoting a porn site when the incident took place.

However, many people are claiming that it is a publicity stunt. I don't know, the shot of the bite looks pretty convincing to me...

Comments on the YouTube clip have been mixed.

While someone else added: "I love how they failed to film the incident as well. How did the shark possibly bite her foot with all that protection around her? The shark smells fish but I smell bullsh*t."

Jak81 commented: "I don't know, but I think that the wound doesn't look like a bite, more like a cut. You sure she didn't cut her foot on a sharp edge of the cage? But nonetheless I wish her all the best."

Molly has taken to Instagram to assure her fans that she's recovering well.

She wrote: "Thanks for your well wishes guys. I'm totally fine. It's not as bad as it seems. Im healing quickly. It was still an amazing experience. Much love to my @camsoda team for taking good care of me"

She also released a statement that said: "I want to thank my fans for their outpouring of support as I heal my foot following the shark bite. Luckily it only required 20 stitches. I'm fine. It's not that bad. I had a great experience anyway and now I have a story to tell forever."

Vice President of CamSoda, Darren Press, explained: "From what we gathered, lemon sharks are predominantly docile and relatively harmless.

"During the broadcast, a shark approached the cage which made Molly nervous. She swam up to the surface as the shark approached. Her foot rose above the protective net and was bitten.

"We immediately pulled Molly out of the cage and rushed to shore."
