When you consider that as a wrestler your job is to be so big that your biceps stretch XXL shirts, inflict as much possible damage on others and travel across the world to do it, it's no wonder actual fights happen back stage.

Being on television, dressed in next to nothing showing off six-packs while thousands chant your name rightly boosts your ego. And the passion WWE superstars have for their business means that only the best will do.

With that being said, every wrestler believes they're better than the people around them. Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle epitomised this when they got into a real-life wrestling match to see who was officially better.

The pair had a brilliant feud back in 2003, which started at the Royal Rumble in January, which Lesnar won, giving him a shot at Angle's world title at Wrestlemania XIX.

What followed was a series of funny promos, as well as some intense battles of wit and strength; culminating at a main event match at The Grandest Stage of Them All in Seattle, Washington, which saw Lesnar seriously injure his neck with a Shooting Star Press

Thankfully The Beast walked away from the bout and recovered, however it'd only be another year before he left the company to pursue a professional football contract, and eventually make his way to the UFC.

He, of course, returned to the WWE in 2012, and has dominated since, battling the likes of John Cena, The Undertaker and Goldberg. Kurt is back too, acting as the Raw general manager after his induction to the WWE Hall of Fame.

On a recent episode of Talk is Jericho, a podcast hosted by Chris Jericho, Angle spoke of how back in 2003 he challenged Brock to a proper wrestling match.

Being a two-time Olympic gold medalist in the sport, Kurt obviously felt he was the most technically gifted at his craft, although Brock had other ideas.

"Someone asked him how I would do against him and he said, 'He's too small, I'd kill him'," Angle recalled. "So I walked up to him and said, 'Did you say I'm too small for you that you would kill me?'

"He said to me, 'Kurt, you're what? 215 (pounds)? I said, 'I'm 225 (pounds)'. He said, 'Well I'm 315'.

"I said, 'Well, I don't have a problem, let's get in the ring'. He said I only have sandals on. I said, 'Well let's go in our bare feet'. He said, 'I don't want to do it'."

The Beast Incarnate backing down? Doesn't seem quite right.

Despite brushing aside Kurt's challenge they did eventually square up, and it went exactly the way Angle thought it would.

"One day he's in North Dakota and he's wrestling Big Show and he's picking this 535-pound (242kg) man up and this is when Big Show was really big.

"He double legged him and picked him up in the air and slammed him on his back. I thought, 'Holy s***, I might not be able to handle this kid'. I never saw anybody do that.

"I walked up behind Brock and tapped him on the shoulder and said, 'Let's go'.

"He turned around and I said, 'Let's go'. And all the wrestlers around the ring, like lumberjack style, looked at him and said, 'You're not getting out bro'."

He continued: "We had the showdown. It was close. It really was. He had 90 pounds on me, but I probably took him down into the ropes a good 7-8 times. He used the ropes to say we're out of bounds. That's okay. I did take him down once. He didn't take me down at all.

"It was really close, but to me, Brock wasn't the wrestler I was. I know Brock doesn't want to hear this, but Brock is a beast.

"Anything he touches gets turned to gold. He's not just a beast. He's a great athlete. He's smart.

"As good of a wrestler as he was, he wasn't that good of a wrestler. He was a big athletic kid, who knew one move a double leg. That's no discredit to him. It's just the fact that he wasn't really that technical as a wrestler."

Could you be arsed, though? Having a wrestling match with Brock Lesnar? I imagine it's very similar to having to move a fridge. Only the fridge has big fuck off arms, scary tattoos and enough adrenaline to win at Aintree.
