Not good news.

There are a load of studies that just love to piss on teenager's chips, aren't there?

You see all kinds of stuff about penis size, foods you shouldn't eat, games you shouldn't play and things you shouldn't drink. Low and behold, they're all things that teenagers hold most dearly to them, and they always claim that they're all bad for you.

A new study, looking at the effects weed has on regular users, brings more bad news for teens.

The University of Maryland School of Medicine came to the conclusion that those who smoke cannabis weekly during their adolescent years are more likely to develop conditions including attention deficit disorder (ADD) and schizophrenia, and suffer permanent reductions in intelligence.

They specifically focused on people between the ages of 13 and 15-years-old, using mice (who are in no way similar to humans) and exposing them to low levels of marijuana for 20 days, according to the Independent.

The problems that occurred in the mice during adolescence were found to continue into adulthood, as they pinpoint 'cortical oscillations' in the brain.

The oscillations are a main part of cognitive processes and develop during early teenagers, meaning weed smokers stunt the development of them, damaging them for years to come.

Researchers at University of Maryland School of Medicine repeated the same test on older mice, but got different results, specifying the effects to more immature brains.
