Over the past three weeks, Sir David Attenborough and the BBC have reminded us that nature is infinitely impressive.
We've had sprinting iguanas, horny leopards and a jaguar savaging a caiman, but this is just as perplexing, sensational and incredible.
The truth is that the majority of things that happen in nature are still surprising and amazing to see, regardless of whether we've seen then 100 times, or never before.

Somehow the two animals ended up being frozen mid-fight, becoming embedded in an icy lake.

Jeff Erickson, who uploaded the photo to Facebook, said that he and a friend came across the moose in Unalakleet, Alaska.
As we've intimated, there's no real evidence as to what they were up to, but it has shades of Eric Cartman in the 'Go God Go' episode of South Park, where he simply can't wait for the Nintendo Wii to be released, so freezes himself in snow so the time passes quickly, asking Butters if he'll defrost him on the release date.

Thinking more logically, the only thing we think could have happened was that they were both on the surface, then the ice cracked, they fell in, and it quickly froze over again. Open to other suggestions.
"It was such a surreal sight - so serene and quiet, but a stark vision of how brutally harsh life can be," Jeff said.
The pair of moose were apparently encased in eight inches of ice. Obviously, unfortunately they died, outlining the devastating yet amazing reality of nature.
