In 2007, British student Meredith Kercher's body was found in Perugia, Italy. She had been brutally murdered. The finger of blame was pointed squarely at her housemate, Amanda Knox and her boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito.

Prosecutors claimed that Knox and Sollecito had sexually assaulted Meredith before murdering her. As a result, Knox spent four years in prison. However, in 2011 her conviction was released and a petty criminal from Perugia, Rudy Guede, was instead charged. He is currently serving 16 years behind bars.

The global media was fascinated with Knox. She seemed completely blasé about the whole thing.

Since her 2011 release, she's remained fairly under the radar. She took part in a Netflix documentary about the murder, but apart from that she's kept a fairly low profile.

Now, she's given a rare insight into her life by opening up her Instagram account and making it public.

There are a lot of pictures of her partner, Christopher Robinson, who she's been dating since last year.

She wrote on Twitter: "What's happening? Well, I made my Instagram public. No more hoarding all my amazing cat videos. Check them out."
