This Robot Seriously Freaked Out Piers Morgan

This Robot Seriously Freaked Out Piers Morgan

It is pretty weird.

A freakishly human-looking robot appeared on Good Morning Britain today and no one knew what to think.

Hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid welcomed Sophia (the android in question) with robotics expert Dr David Hanson, who thinks the machines could help people who are socially isolated. So, a robot best friend? Sounds good to me.

But not everyone was in agreement:

Piers definitely wasn't a fan, but later revealed that Sophia had offered him some sage advice.

The robot answered Susanna's questions without hesitation - much better than a lot of their human guests, to be honest. If they'd bothered to put a wig on her/it, I think it'd all have been fine.

When Susanna asked her what she thought of Britain, Sophia was quick to reply that the country was 'brilliant', going on to tell the hosts she liked the architecture and the people.

It was a bit much for Piers who told the robot: "You're a little freak, aren't you?"

But even after he called her a freak, she was still full of praise for Piers, telling him she loved his 'posh English accent'.

For reasons best known to himself, Piers then asked the bot if she was single, to which she replied: "I'm technically just a little more than a year old - a bit young to worry about romance."

Before adding: "My ideal partner is a super-wise, compassionate super-genius, ideally."

Good luck with that, Sophia.
