Woman Turned Away From Her Own Pool Because Of 'Inappropriate' Swimsuit

Woman Turned Away From Her Own Pool Because Of 'Inappropriate' Swimsuit

And it's a totally normal one-piece!

When Tori Jenkins tried to enter the pool that she and her fiancé Tyler Newman pay $300 (£235) a month to use, she wasn't expecting to be turned away because her hot pink one-piece swimsuit was 'inappropriate'.

Understandably, Tori was humiliated and upset.

As you can see, the bathing suit is pretty modest. Tyler was supportive, but also understandably angry on her behalf.

He wrote on Facebook about what happened to Tori, explaining that she was not only asked to leave the pool, but subjected to a barrage of offensive comments from the building manager.

He wrote: "Tori was accused of wearing a 'thong bathing suit' and told there were complaints about the way she was dressed after roughly three minutes, tops, of us arriving there. We both kind of sat there in disbelief around five of our friends, some of which are residents and some not.

"Tori decided to go to the apartment office, which I regret not accompanying her on, and address the issue politely and calmly with the leasing consultant about the situation in a more private setting.

"In the office, the leasing consultant (who, for now, I will not name) insisted upon letting Tori take her picture to show 'how inappropriate' her bathing suit was, and instructed her to look into a mirror at her own body."

He continued: "She was told I wasn't allowed to spray tanning lotion on parts of her body that she can't reach because the consultant insisted that she could reach them herself.

"She was told that her body, because it's built more curvy than others is 'too inappropriate' for children to be around. She was told: 'There are a lot of teenage boys in this complex, and you don't need to excite them.'"

I think it's quite clear that Tori wasn't wearing a thong, and in a world where budgie smugglers still exist, this is clearly an acceptable swimsuit.

Tyler went on to say that his fiancée had been 'embarrassed to the point where she can't even look her best friends in the face', and that he had 'never seen her cry like she did today'.

Support for Tori has poured in from across the Internet, with some people even going so far as to post pictures of their own swimsuits in solidarity.

Tori has been overwhelmed by the response, writing: "I'd just like to say on my own behalf that I'm really amazed by all of the overwhelming support I've received.

"Thank you all, you really don't know how much it means to me. It hasn't even been that long since it happened but I can tell you that I've felt really shitty about myself since. Being distracted by friends and work and your wonderful comments have made this process a whole lot easier."
