You What? Your Birthmark Might Tell You Secrets About Your Past Life?

You What? Your Birthmark Might Tell You Secrets About Your Past Life?

Or it might just be discoloured skin. Either or!

You might have thought it was just a splattering of freckles, a mole, or a beauty mark, but it's so much more than that. You need to be able to read your birthmark as it might be able to tell you something about yourself that you wouldn't have known otherwise. Birthmarks might be able to shed light on your past life.

For some reason, The Journal of the Society for Psychical Research has spent actual time and money researching whether moles are proof of reincarnation and if birthmarks show how you died in a past life.

Basically, the theory is that if you have a birthmark, it's probably the fatal wound from a previous life. If you have a circular birthmark (or more than one) you were probably shot. It could be a bullet wound. If you're covered in birthmarks, who knows, maybe you were murdered by a gangster in a former life.

Does your birthmark look like a weapon? A sword or knife, perhaps? That could have been the weapon that killed you. Or maybe that was your weapon of choice. Maybe you were a gangster in a former life.

This isn't an exact science.

I have a birthmark around my belly button so I'm assuming in a past life I died from an Alien-like eruption. Or childbirth. Or from eating too much. All serious options.

If your birthmark looks like fire (?) then you burnt to death. Maybe you were a witch in a previous life and burnt at the stake! Or maybe you burnt things.

Or some people believe that it could mean that your mum stared at the fire too long so it's now on your skin. How long is too long? And how often do people get the chance to stare at fires these days? So many questions! For a much longer time than necessary, people believed that women looking at things while pregnant would mean that the baby would have a birthmark on it's skin in that shape.

Science really has a lot to answer for.

It's also a common superstition in several countries across the world that birthmarks happen because your pregnant mum really craved something to eat or drink but didn't get it. Just another reason why you should give pregnant ladies whatever they want, otherwise their children will be both malnourished and covered in birthmarks.

Apart from telling you how you died in a previous life (cheery), birthmarks can also be seen as incredibly lucky. If you have a horse shoe or four leaf clover birthmark then you might win the lottery.

Another so-called lucky child was born at the beginning of this year with a rather unusual and prominent birthmark. This Turkish baby was born with a love heart on his head, and has been called "the love baby".

Apparently that's lucky, too.
