Man Kills 23-Foot Python After It Held Up Traffic And Bit His Arm

He ended up in hospital, but lived to tell the tale

Many people wouldn't get into a scrap with a huge python if it threatened their family, but this guy went to war with one because it held up traffic.

Local media in Indonesia reports that Robert Nababan came across a 23-foot python edging its way across a road, blocking cars.

Nababan got off his scooter and with the help of two other passersby tried moving the snake away, only for it to sink its teeth into his arm, sending him to hospital.

The 37-year-old told Indonesian TV reporters: "I tried to catch it. It bit my arm, and we wrestled for a while."

Despite being in hospital because of the serpent, you'd forgive him if he responded with: 'If you think this is bad, you should see the other guy.' Or in this case, 'you should see the snake'.

Nababan managed to thwart the reptile, which is now held up up by thick rope in a yard, like some sort of trophy, after he killed it.

According to local reports, per the Telegraph, the details of how the snake met its damning end are unclear. However, they do say that Nababan has been described as a palm oil plantation worker. Therefore he most likely had some kind of blade on him.

The snake was thought to be a reticulated python, the world's longest breed of snake and the longest reptile. Like all pythons, these are not venomous - despite the velocity of the bite they pack - meaning if you're bitten it probably won't be lethal. Well, unless they eat you whole.

Now that he's got the huge snake hung up and out of it though, he can begin to think what to do with it next.

He could take a page out of Gordon Ramsay's book, and cook it.

For The F Word, Ramsay and his son Jack went searching for pythons so that the chef could show locals how to get a delicious meal out of them.

It sounds mad, but somehow he made it sound and look appetising.

As you can see in the clip above, after skinning and filleting the snake he puts it through a grinder, before frying it with pineapple, shallots, brown sugar and jalapenos.

Finally he adds soy sauce before transferring the mixture to a wrap of lettuce, and there it is.

No one seems to question that they're eating snake mince, nor does anyone grimace at the taste, which leads me to believe that Ramsay could make a half decent dish out of a turd.
