There's A Land Made Up Of Hundreds Of Abandoned Dogs
It's easy to think of the world as a pretty bad place sometimes, a quick look at the news can sure you that, but occasionally something breaks through that it so good and so pure that your faith in humanity is briefly restored.
It's a temporary sanctuary for dogs that otherwise may have been put down at shelters, while they wait for their new home and a longer-term home for dogs who can't find new owners.
Are you starting to feel happy yet?
While there, the pooches, who have been abandoned through no fault of their own, are left in the care of the dedicated team at the Land of the Strays.
According to its mission statement: "Zaguates territory is a 'no-kill shelter', a dog sanctuary where we do not believe in euthanasia as a solution to the problem of abandoned dogs in Costa Rica. Our mission is to find a home for all dogs that are in our care.
"We are a temporary home for hundreds of dogs looking for a second chance, and we are also the permanent home of many others who may never find their own family."
Oh did I tell you the best bit? Land of the Strays is open to the public, so if you're interested in adopting, or you just really fancy hanging out with some dogs for a bit, then you can pay them a visit. How amazing is that?
The dogs are cared for by a team of volunteers who make sure they're getting enough exercise and attention, not to mention food and treats. There's also plenty of water stations and cosy bedding for the dogs to snuggle down on after a long day of being bloody adorable.
Anyone else thinking of quitting their job, packing and bag making a bee-line for 'Land of the Strays'? Come on, it can't just be me.
