Amber Heard has spoken out in a bid to encourage lawmakers to push for revenge porn perpetrators to be punished with prison sentences.

The 33-year-old actress was one of the celebrities to discover that her personal pictures had been released, following the iCloud hack in 2014, which Jennifer Lawrence also fell victim to.

Speaking at the Capital Hill Visitor Center in support of the Stopping Harmful Image Exploitation and Limiting Distribution (SHIELD) Act, Heard spoke of the 'devastating consequences' that the hack had on both her private and professional life.

According to the Metro, the Aquaman star said: "Non-consensual porn is one of the worst violations of privacy and it doesn't discriminate, instead it disproportionately affects women around the world with devastating consequences.

"Intimate content released into the internet is virtually impossible to remove, further subjecting victims to harassment and judgement from strangers and acquaintances alike.

"It can result and often does in devastating and economic, social psychological consequences. My stolen and manipulated photos are still online to this day, posted again and again with sexually explicit and humiliating and degrading headlines about my body, about myself.

"I continue to be harassed, stalked and humiliated by the theft of those images. The consequences to my personal safety, dignity and livelihood are severe.

"My relationships, my family, my profession, my opportunities, and moreover, my expectations for bodily autonomy and liberty are forever compromised. If it can happen to me it can happen to anyone - and it does."

Heard says the consequences of the 2014 hack were 'devastating'.

Heard wants the non-consensual sharing of intimate, or private, pictures to be punishable by up to five years in prison.

Another victim of the iCloud hack was Jennifer Lawrence, who likened the experience to being 'gang-banged by the fucking planet'.

Speaking to the Mirror, the Red Sparrow actor said: "There was a long period when I didn't want to be seen sexually and I didn't want anybody to see my flesh. There were things that made me uncomfortable."

Jennifer Lawrence was also a victim of the iCloud hack.

Now though, Lawrence is just enjoying being single. She said: "I am in the single mode where I am like, 'Cool, I can do whatever I want and I can be alone and watch terrible TV'.

"And then, of course, in a few months I will be devastatingly lonely and feel like I'm on some long waiting list. But I am not there yet."
