A teenage YouTuber has been shot in the head on a motorway in Brazil after a reported road rage incident. Isabelly Cristine Santos was travelling between Ipanema and Praia de Leste in Paraná when an argument broke out between her driver and another motorist.
The Daily Mail says the 14-year-old was caught in the crossfire when gunshots erupted, with one bullet striking her head.
Isabelly was taken to Regional do Litoral Hospital in nearby Paranagua, where doctors worked quickly to treat her injuries. Sadly though, the teen's mum has written on social media: "The doctor just said that she is brain dead."
The 14-year-old was the producer of content on the YouTube channel Isa Top Show, which has racked up nearly four and a half million views and has 81,000 subscribers. Despite her youth, she produced high-quality vlogs at big events like parties and club nights, always with her signature branded microphone in hand.
She described her YouTube account as "full of news, interviews, entertainment, music, beauty tips and fashion, in short, a complete channel specially made for you."
Her most popular video, an exclusive interview with MC Lan, has reached more than 2.5 million views. But the latest clip posted to her account is from a news broadcast of the shooting.
Police have reportedly arrested two people in connection with the shooting.
Military Police Lieutenant Colonel Rui Barroso has told local media: "Neither of the two suspects has a criminal history. The firearm was legally registered. The offender confessed."
Police added that no one else was injured in the shooting and haven't confirmed whether other people are being sought for the incident.
Brain death occurs when the brain has lost its ability to function. It's different from a vegetative state when the patient might not be able to move or respond, as a full brain death means other involuntary functions like breathing stop happening.

The Lazarus sign is a reflex movement that can happen in brain dead patients, where their arms rise and fall on their chest. This can sometimes give family and friends false hope at recovery, as that reflex is a result of cells from the spinal cord, not the brain.
A complete brain death includes both the brain and the brainstem, but if it is just afflicting the brain, then most of the time the person's heart and lungs don't need assistance from machines.
It has mixed legal meanings depending on which country you're in, as some jurisdictions allow a brain death to be a legal death, whereas others will only declare a body deceased if vital organs like the heart and lungs stop.
