YouTuber Alfie Deyes has apologised after a back-lash from fans over doing the £1 a day challenge.

A bunch of YouTubers have been attempting the challenge - which, as the name suggests, sees them attempting to live off just a quid for the day.

Alfie decided to give it a try but not everyone is impressed with how he did it. Multi-millionaire Alfie3 posted a video to document his day in which he had a bit of a moan about having to drink tap water.

He was also shown hopping into a Range Rover (using over a pound's worth of fuel) and going to the gym where he had a personal training session, which I think we can safely assume would've set him back more than a quid.

On Twitter some people went in on the 24-year-old for trying to make poverty entertainment, with one person writing: "Alfie Deyes has somehow gotten even more insufferable with his 'living off £1 for a day' video. laughing about only having £1 to spend, complaining about drinking tap water, going on a shopping spree but it 'doesn't count cus it's not food'."

Twitter

Another posted: "Did I actually just watch Alfie Deyes complain that he had to drink tap water instead of bottled water with ice?"

While another asked; "What about adding some links on where to find your local food bank? What about actually working with a charity who helps support people living in this kind of poverty? Other people's desperation isn't your privilege Alfie, this is actually a lot of people's reality."

Twitter

Alfie spotted that not everyone loved his latest video and issued an apology online, he also changed the name of the clip to 'Spending £1 in 24 hours', which he believes is 'more fitting'.

He wrote: "I just got to Twitter to some people are unhappy with the video I just uploaded. I'm so sorry if this has upset you, that was never my intention. I'd seen many others do this video recently and wanted to try it myself. Some people have seen the video as me mocking others, which I for sure was not doing in the video.

Twitter

"I've seen a few people asking me to the change the title to 'Spending £1 in 24 hours' and I've since changed the title so it's more fitting and less misleading.

"Hope this clears up some of your concerns."
