When some films come out, they have such a profound effect on people that they become more than just a piece of entertainment, but a discussion starter about more important stuff.
Look at Get Out: Jordan Peele's film not only performed incredibly well at the Box Office and with critics, but it got a whole bunch of people talking about race relations in America.
Well, Avengers: Infinity War has not only managed to decimate Box Office figures beneath it's mighty gauntlet, but it's sparked an unusual debate between fans.
Recently, we published an article about the number of people who think that maybe Thanos - the film's villain - had a point when he said that the universe is overcrowded.
Now, they weren't agreeing with him *SPOILER* killing off half the universe, including a bunch of Avengers, but these supporters thought his reasoning was sound.

While no one knows whether Sir David Attenborough has seen Infinity War, one could deduce that he would agree with Thanos as he's certainly spoken up about some pretty Mad Titan-like theories himself in the past.
Back in 2013, Attenborough gave an interview with Radio Times in which he argued that humans are 'a plague on the earth'.
He told them: "We are a plague on the Earth. It's coming home to roost over the next 50 years or so. It's not just climate change; it's sheer space, places to grow food for this enormous horde
"Either we limit our population growth or the natural world will do it for us, and the natural world is doing it for us right now,"

Sound familiar? Let's hope Sir Dave never gets his mitts on the Infinity Stones, eh?
He made matters worse for himself when he singled out the people of Ethiopia.
In the same interview he said: "We keep putting on programmes about famine in Ethiopia; that's what's happening. Too many people there.
"They can't support themselves - and it's not an inhuman thing to say. It's the case. Until humanity manages to sort itself out and get a co-ordinated view about the planet it's going to get worse and worse."
Bloody hell, that's a pretty out-there view.

Attenborough - and Thanos while we're at it - could be accused of holding 'Malthusian' views. Named after an 18-19th century scholar called Thomas Robert Malthus, Malthusians argue that population growth always outpaces resources such as food production.
This can lead to what is known as a 'Malthusian catastrophe' in which a catastrophic event returns the system back to it's base level. The problem is, usually a lot of people have to die to facilitate this.
Whatever the answer to the world's problems are, you can be damn sure that it shouldn't involve half the population dying.
