Jermaine Pennant Appears On 'Jeremy Kyle' But Refuses To Take Lie Detector Test

His wife, Alice, said it was tough watching the footballer get flirty with women inside the 'Big Brother' house

It won't surprise anyone that some footballers cheat on their wives.

However, most of the time they at least try and keep it under wraps, be a bit discreet about it. They might not always succeed in hiding their dirty secrets - Wayne *cough* Rooney - but at least they try.

They definitely don't go on national television and list all of their infidelities in public, that's for sure.

Well, that's what ex-England and Arsenal player, Jermaine Pennant did, and what better place to do it than on the Jeremy Kyle Show? Classy.

The 35-year-old 'love rat' was dragged onto the hit daytime show by his wife, Alice Goodwin, who said she was upset with her husband's behaviour while he was a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother, earlier this year.

She told Jeremy that she was 'upset' with his 'childish' antics and flirtatious relationship with with fellow contestant Chloe Ayling - which involved him hiding his wedding ring and not admitting he was married.

Pulling an absolute worldy of an excuse straight out of the 'Richard Keys Handbook For Shit Excuses', Jermaine said it was just 'banter'.

During the chat with Jezza, Alice said: "I was a bit upset. I was sat at home waiting for him to explain himself. I was a bit pissed off because he acted immature in there, there's no doubt about that.

"He acted a bit childish for sure. But like I say nothing physical went on, it got blown out of proportion. I was never going to leave him. He's never cheated on me."

But in true Jezza Kyle fashion, no tiff between lovers is ever complete without the famous lie detector test. However, Jermaine was having absolutely none of it.

He said: "No, no. I'm alright. I'm good. But I'm not coming on the show to do one."

The ex-pro then turned to his partner and said 'behind closed doors'.

So, we just don't know whether Jermaine has cheated on his wife or not, but I think we all probably really know.

Though he wouldn't take the test, he did go into some quite graphic detail about the kind of 'banter' he and his pals would get up to during the height of his career. Let's not forget, this man payed in a Champions League final, let that sink in.

In a genius bit of invention, he revealed to Jeremy and the audience that he once created a game called 'Monopoly' - sounds harmless enough, I'm a massive fan - but this isn't a family friendly kind of game at Christmas which sees dad storm off to bed, no.

The x-rated version had one rule. Jermaine said: "If you get with a girl and she gets with them (his friend) the following week, you're going to have to pay me rent."

Despite all that the pair renewed their vows in Dubai this month, so we don't think Alice is that heartbroken.

Another victory for reality television. In case you can't tell, we are being sarcastic in here.
