For a long time there was a gap in the movie hero market and dog lovers the world over were waiting for their moment.
It seemed as though it would never come, but then a dark figure appeared on the horizon in the form of Keanu Reeves' bloodthirsty assassin, John 'The Boogieman' Wick.
When a gang of thugs murder his pet pooch - which his dead wife bought him from beyond the grave - he goes on a 90-minute rampage and kills everything in sight.

Finally, someone understood how we felt.
Such a success, studio bosses made a second action-packed film which proved just as bloody. But this time around things didn't end on such a good note for our John.
He was ex-communicated from the criminal underworld and a $14million bounty was placed on his head. Basically, every man and his dog - get it? - were after him.

Since then fans have been waiting patiently for the trilogy to be complete, with plot rumours and photos being released for the third installment, John Wick 3: Parabellum.
And now even more behind the scenes images are being released on social media, showing Keanu riding on horseback - of course he is - chasing bad guys through the streets of New York.
As well as the Point Break star, Halle Berry of Catwoman fame has been signed up, and a photo of her dressed in leathers with two dogs by her side has been doing the rounds on social media.
It will also see the return of Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the original John Wick, directed John Wick: Chapter 2, and is an executive producer of the upcoming spin-off series, The Continental.

So what can fans expect from the new film?
Stahelski told Collider there will be plenty of 'horses, dogs, cats, a raven, a bunch of pigeons, a motorcycle chase, car chase, Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, shotguns, and ninjas.'

It says: "John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons... he's being hunted for a global $14million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds.
"The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental's manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he's "Excommunicado" - membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City."
