Yes, we will live in a world where people care about 'X talking about how they have split up with Y', this is where we are in 2018. So that's good.

Maybe I'm just being bitter, I don't think my best friends even cared when I got dumped by my girlfriend, never mind asking me to acknowledge it, in public or private.

Unless you call downloading Tinder for the 15th time a public acknowledgment, which I guess it is.

Anyway I digress, people do care about Ariana Grande - even my friends - so when her five month romance and engagement with comedian Pete Davidson came to an end, the world was understandably in shock.

I'm still trying to get over it it I'm totally honest.

Bu you will be pleased to know the 24-year-old funny man's heart is on the mend, as according to the Telegraph he has been joking about his split with the singer.

Davidson was following on from Superbad producer and comedian, Judd Apatow, at a benefit concert for the Democrats in Los Angeles, and joked, 'who wants to follow that?'.

He added: "Am I not going through enough that I have to follow that?!"

"Well, as you can tell, I don't want to be here. There's a lot going on. Anybody have any open rooms? Anybody looking for a roommate?"

But the New Yorker wasn't done there.

While he was dating the global phenomenon, Davidson had a number of tattoos in tribute to the No Tears Left to Cry singer, including her trademark bunny ears, which he had inked behind his left ear. This has since been covered up and turned into a black heart.

He also had the word 'reborn' etched on his thumb, a portrait of their pet pig on his torso, and a cloud and her initials on his finger.

Davidson joked: "I've been covering a bunch of tattoos, that's fun. I'm fucking 0-for-2 in the tattoo department. Yeah, I'm afraid to get my mom tattooed on me because she'd leave."

According to reports, the show followed one cancelled by Davidson at Temple University last week, for which he cited 'personal reasons'.

The couple began dating in May this year and even moved into together into Grande's New York apartment.

But the news of their split was reported in the press last week when it was announced the pair had agreed the relationship wouldn't be going any further.
