Piers Morgan Lays Into Gender-Fluid Guest On This Morning

There was an online backlash to his comments.

Treat others how you'd like to be treated, as the old saying goes. Or not, if you're Piers Morgan, who's as well-known for getting up people's backs and having a pop at Gary Lineker on Twitter as he is for his successful media career.

Morgan, a man famed for thinking before he speaks, was on the Good Morning Britain couch today interviewing gender-fluid guest Tabitha/Tate about how they identify (if at all) in terms of gender. When Tabitha, she feels herself to be a woman, uses women's toilets and has a boyfriend. When Tate, he does the exact opposite, has a girlfriend, and uses a prosthetic penis in the bogs.

Morgan queried how Tabitha/Tate's identity may have been influenced by experiences with their father earlier in life, something which left the guest visibly disturbed, as you can see in the video.

Tabitha's (as she was on Good Morning Britain) mother, Petra, is transgender, and was her biological father, this being presumably what Morgan was talking about.

On some days she/he wakes up as Tabitha, others Tate, and explained to Morgan that she wasn't confused, simply that it takes a "few minutes" to work out which person she is of a morning.

Amid an inevitable online backlash, which he doubtless loved, Morgan defended himself and claimed he was not against transgender rights.

It could be argued that labelling someone's way of going about their life 'bulls**t' might not really come under the umbrella of support but, hey ho, there you go.

I personally couldn't give a fuck how Tabitha goes about her days and Tate his, or which toilets they prefer to use when they do. Just as it doesn't stop Morgs from doing what he does best, in not one tiny way does it interfere with how I go about mine, which mainly involves eating Haribo, watching football and listening to lo-fi Spanish trance. Bueno!
