An American has been introduced to the joy that is Greggs, and said the taste was 'so f***ing good' that they're ready to 'reject' the US.
While the UK may have a lot to answer for in certain areas - erm, let's give the weather as an obvious, but non-political, example - there's one thing that Brits can be truly proud of, and that's budget bakery chain Greggs.
Over the decades, it's become something of a national staple, fuelling us valiantly with bacon sarnies en route to work or a steak bake treat when we're out shopping.

We may have vegan sausage rolls and cheese and bean bakes as rotating fixtures of our diet, but not everyone's so lucky - as one tourist recently learnt when they visited from America.
Speaking about their first Greggs experience on Reddit, they wrote: "I'm American visiting the UK for the first time and Gregg's is SO F***ING GOOD."
They added: "Bro how the HELL does that shit taste so good?

"Also who's idea was it to put steak and gravy in a pastry and make it taste f***ing amazing.
"This s*** so good its boutta make me reject independence, return to British."
Many people were chuffed for the person's newfound joy, with one writing: "Someone give this man British citizenship, he's one of us now."
Another said: "His mind is going to be blown away when he realises you can get bake at home Greggs from Iceland."

A third wrote: "Steak and gravy in pastry is a British staple as old as time my friend."
Others gave them tip-offs about British cuisine in general, with one saying: "Surely it has occurred to Americans that meat, gravy, and pastry can be combined?
"If not, then British food > American food has officially been confirmed. I can't imagine how much OP's mind will be blown when he tastes a proper steak and ale pie."
Another mentioned the much-lauded Christmas range, commenting: "If you haven't had a festive bake yet, oh you are in for a treat."

Yup, the new Greggs fan will now also be able to enjoy the almighty festive bake, which returned to stores for the 2021 holiday season earlier this week.
