Christmas is a time for gorging yourself with all the most incredible foods the world has to offer. There are definitely times when you might want to indulge in a little self-improvement - more exercise, maybe, or a healthier diet - but let's face it, December isn't one of them.

I mean, who starts a diet just as all the supermarkets started bringing out quite possibly the tastiest treats?! Why deprive yourself the pleasures of mince pies or seemingly endless quantities of booze?

If you've got a bit of a sweet tooth, you may well find yourself getting palpitations whenever you hear the words 'salted caramel'. So the news that Aldi is bringing out salted caramel flavour mince pies might give you very real cause to lose your shit.

After all, mince pies are the ultimate Christmas munch, but when you add an injection of the nectar of the gods? Ugh, it just sounds incredible.

Aldi is the real MVP this year, and it doesn't just stop there - it's also brought out a Chocolate Orange flavour for those of you who feel a bit better having 'one of your five a day' paired with chocolate.

Speaking about their new editions the supermarket giant has said: "Aldi's Specially Selected Flavoured Mince Pies are perfect for those who prefer theirs the traditional style but would also like a little something extra. Available in delicious Chocolate Orange and Salted Caramel, these classic flavours add an extra Christmas excitement to the traditional mince pies."

The delicious treats are £1.69 ($2.28) for six, and are officially on sale in stores now. BRB, off to go and buy them all.

But once you've spent all your money on salted caramel flavour mince pies, what's left to spend on Christmas dinner? Well, you might want to take inspiration from one woman who managed to get her festive shopping done for less than £21 ($28).

By compared 'own brand' products at her local supermarkets Asda and Aldi, and ruling out items she already had at home - such as salt, pepper and oil - mum Louise managed to pick up everything required for a full three-course Christmas dinner, and all for the princely sum of £20.77 ($28.04).

Think you can beat that? Let us know.
