Baker Creates Birthday Cake With Pimples You Can Pop

Gross, or delicious? Well, it's sort of both

Hey, does your 16-year-old son have a birthday coming up? Need a show-stopping piece of confectionery to celebrate the birthday of a particularly squeamish friend? Well, do we have the cake for you...

Mark Robillard is a Canadian cake designer who can knock you up a specialist cake inspired by 'Dr Pimple Popper'. Complete with real poppable zits. Have a see for yourself.

Yes, that's right. If ever you've wanted a cake that treads that thin line between delicious and disgusting, this is it.

Mark is a baker who lives just north of Toronto and runs a YouTube channel called Epic Confections. On there he shows you how to make some frankly ridiculous - but also incredibly impressive - cakes.

Ever wanted to celebrate with a realistic Xenomorph from the film Alien? Now you can.

This particular creation was inspired by Dr Sandra Lee, better known as Dr Pimple Popper. She makes her living travelling around the world ridding people of horrific cysts, pimples, and all sorts.

It's not for the faint-hearted, to say the least.

It really is very realistic...

Mark was given the idea by his husband James - a big DPP fan - and decided to recreate the good doctor's board game, Pimple Pete.

He told LADbible: "I have had a few requests from my YouTube channel to make pimple cupcakes but I wanted to take it one step further.

"My husband who religiously watches Dr. Pimple Popper suggested I recreate the Pimple Pete Cake, so I did!

"People have mixed reactions to it they either love it or hate it but secretly I think they like it because its satisfying."

As for the cake itself, it might be gross, but it probably tastes great. That's if the ingredients list is anything to go by.

Mark continued: "It's a vanilla cake with dark chocolate ganache filling. The pus was made with a Venetian cream filling wrapped in a fondant ball and when squeezed it all comes flowing out just like a real gross pimple!"

Anyway, if you want to learn how to do stuff like this, or just to see it done, Mark has a YouTube channel that you can go to and find out about how to make this cake, and some other ones that are less - shall we say - divisive.

He assured us that it isn't actually that difficult.

As for Dr Sandra Lee, we can only hope that she sees this and immediately commissions them to be mass produced. Mark says that he has sold a fair few already.

Who wouldn't want to eat a cake that is covered in 'pus' filled zits? Live a little, for heaven's sake.
