Burger King has arranged an early Christmas present for Whopper lovers, with a buy one get one free offer running from today.

However, like most things in life, there's a bit of catch - you won't immediately be handed your meaty treat, you'll be handed a voucher which can then be redeemed in January. A nice way to brighten up an otherwise gloomy - and let's face it, skint - month.

Sharing the news, the fast food company asked potential customers if they're going to be 'naughty' (keeping the burger) or 'nice' (giving it away to a pal) - I think we all know the answer to that one, guys.

This isn't the only promo the burger giant has on at the minute; over in the US its recently launched a cheeky offer taking a swipe and its top competitor McDonald's.

The 'Whopper Detour' was launched on 4 December and means that customers can get their hands on a Whopper for one cent - yup, one cent, less than a penny for a Whopper. Amazing, eh?

So, what's the catch? Well, customers have to be in a McDonald's restaurant to order. Oof.

The purchase must be made using an app, which has an in-built special deal that is only activated when near a Maccie's restaurant.

In a statement about the deal, Burger King said: "If a guest is inside one of these geofenced areas and has the new BK App on their device, the app will unlock the Whopper sandwich for a penny promotion.

"Once the Whopper sandwich order is placed, the user will be 'detoured' away from McDonald's, as the app navigates them to the nearest Burger King restaurant for pick up."

Sadly, for now at least, the offer is only available in the States. Come on Burger King, we like being petty just as much as the Americans.
