Armed with a secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices, the culinary legend that is Colonel Sanders has saved many a hangover, the world over.

KFC manages to flog around 14 million pieces of chicken a week, or to put it another way, about 700 million pieces a year.

So, it's safe to say its pretty popular.

But it's not just wings, thighs and incredible gravy that makes KFC so popular its also massive in the burger game.

Now the Colonel has answered the prayers of many, after he announced that one favourite is going to be making what's sure to be a very welcome return.

Proof, if it were needed, that not all heroes where capes, some just have a handle bar moustache and a goatee.

Billed as their 'sauciest burger ever' the Dirty Louisiana Burger is back on the menu from today.

However, there is a but - you will need to be quick if you want to get your hands on one as it won't be around forever, just six weeks in fact.

As well as the saucy burger, customers lucky enough to sink their teeth into the meaty treat won't have to worry about making a mess, as it comes with a limited-edition Colonel Sanders-inspired bib.

Very stylish, I'm sure you'll agree. And not just stylish, but also very practical while your chowing down on a burger famed for the amount of sauce it contains.

But sadly only a handful of the 500 franchises across the country, will be selling the Dirty Louisiana bibs.

A KFC spokesperson said: "The Dirty Louisiana burger is for serious burger fans - original recipe chicken, a hash brown and three unbelievable sauces - it doesn't disappoint. When they're gone they're gone, so get in there early to make sure you don't miss out. "

The Dirty Louisiana bibs will only be available at stores on Queen Street, Cardiff; Union Street, Bristol; Gloucester Road, London; Haymarket, Sheffield; Broad Street, Reading; Argyll Street, Glasgow and Milton Street in Nottingham.
