This Manchester Pub Is Offering A 40-Inch Pizza Challenge

This thing is HUGE

There's a famous saying that suggests bigger isn't always better - however, a bigger pizza is almost always a vast improvement on a smaller one. This particular pie is huge, looks amazing and certainly presents a challenge.

In fact, a pub in Manchester has really taken both food challenges and your favourite cheesy treat to a new level with its 40-inch pizza challenge.

Carters Arms

The Carters Arms in Wilmslow, Manchester, is where you can find the challenge in question - basically, two people have half an hour to devour what is thought to be the country's largest wood-fired pizza.

This would normally set back customers a whopping £70 ($90), and comes with two toppings from the menu. I suppose you wouldn't really want to overload this monster.

To take part, competitors pay £50 ($65), choose their two toppings, and have 30 minutes to tackle the beast of a pizza - if they manage to demolish the entire thing within that time, they'll get their £50 back and will star on the restaurant's wall of fame.

Check the video below, where you'll see the pizza being carried by two people - well, obviously you'd need two people, it's bloody massive - having been baked on a wood fire by the pub's own Mwah Pizza.

It's then cut into the biggest slices you've ever seen, which are then tackled by two brave LADs.

A spokesperson for the pub told LADbible: "Our monthly food challenge events give you the opportunity to take on the biggest pizza in the country. Pick a friend, pick your toppings, psych yourselves up and attack. Successful challengers will be refunded the cost of the pizza in full."

One courageous competitor who took on the challenge - but ultimately failed - told JOE: "It is a brutal challenge. After 15 minutes into it I was fuller than I've ever been!

"After completing the City to Summit 20-hour endurance event in Scotland, the last 15 minutes of the pizza challenge felt much worse than that."

So definitely not a challenge for the faint hearted. But then again, no giant Man V Food type challenge comes as an easy feat, whether it be pizza or even a 200oz steak (which is basically heavier than a newborn lamb).

Such a steak can be found in Devon, at the Cattlemans Steakhouse, and it'll set you back an eye-watering £179 ($240).

SWNS

The price not only includes the steak, but also everything it comes served with including garlic bread, chips, onion rings, mushrooms, tomatoes and coleslaw. Not bad, eh?

And anyone panicking about where you'd fit it all, fear not - it's designed to be shared between four people, and any group that completes the meal within one hour gets it free of charge.

Is that a win-win situation? Pretty sure it is.
