As far as dream jobs go, I imagine chocolate tester is pretty high up there on most peoples' lists. Sadly, it's not usually seen as a realistic career choice - but there is some good news in the form of an internship.

Mars has advertised for someone to go and help them taste new treats and to be honest it sounds like the best gig ever.

The website states: "With visits to nearby manufacturing sites, you will go behind-the-scenes to see firsthand how our products are made and sample a wide spectrum of chocolate, gum and fruity confections - including flavors that haven't yet reached the public and brand varieties that are offered in 180 countries around the world."

Mars brands include Snickers and Milky Way.

The paid (an undisclosed fee) position is for an intern role at their Chicago, so it may well mean relocating for the 8-12 weeks that the internship lasts.

According to their ad, the role is paid, but the best is yet to come. The company, who make Mars bars, Maltesers, Skittles, Snickers, Starburst, Juicy Fruit and more, also offer A WHOLE YEAR'S SUPPLY of free treats. That flight to Chicago will basically pay for itself.

The role also includes media training and social media stuff, with the right candidate expected to 'infuse flavorful fun into social media content development'.

They will also need 'strong writing and communication skills across a range of technical audiences', 'photo/video editing and production skills', and to be 'active and knowledgeable across social media platforms'. Apparently, 'experience in journalism and/or creative content development' is also preferred but not required.

The internship is paid and lasts 8-12 weeks.

They will also need to 'be able to distinguish between the chocolate used in Snickers and M&Ms; name all five fruity flavors from the Skittles rainbow; and prove they can keep a potted peppermint plant alive for at least eight weeks'.

Obviously, the role is bound to attract more than a few applications, so although there is no end date on the application you'll need to be at least 21 by May 20, 2019, but also 'possess the mindset of a kid in a candy store'. I'm sure we can do that.

If you think this is you all over and want to be considered, head over to the Mars website to apply.
