It's been a big old week for McDonald's - first the fast food chain had people queuing out the door for a sample of its new Spicy Chicken McNuggets, and now it looks like it's bringing back two of its most missed McFlurry flavours.

As reported by The Sun, the Twix and Mars McFlurries will return to our favourite hangover food joint in the UK and Ireland as of 7 August.

FYI that's the same day the spicy nuggets are rolled out - we know where we're grabbing dinner next week.

As said, this isn't the first time the Twix and Mars McFlurries have hit the Maccies menus, having appeared in February this year and for a brief period in 2016 respectively.

For those who didn't get to try them the first time round (or you have been wishing for their return ever since), luckily you'll get to indulge once more in a matter of days.

Even better, they're both priced at just £1.39, or 99p for the small size. The deserts contain the classic Maccies soft serve ice cream with pieces of Twix or Mars, all topped off with chocolate caramel sauce. Nom, nom, nom.

Mars McFlurry? Yes please.

And if you're wondering whether it's all just rumours and hearsay, the official McDonald's UK Twitter account appeared to confirm the news by posting a story about their return, alongside the caption: "See you next week?"

Damn straight you will.

It's great to see McDonald's reviving some of its fan favourites, having re-introduced the Big Tasty to the menu late last year.

And while Spicy Chicken McNuggets aren't something the UK has experienced just yet, they are a fixture on the Australian menus and are something that Brits have been wanting to try for some time now.

Prices vary between branches, but on average they cost around the same as a normal batch of nuggets - £3.19 for 6, £3.49 for 9 or £4.99 for 20.

The British version of the product uses a new, specially-developed recipe, and comes with a Tabasco-based dip - just in case you want to bump up the spice even more.

What if you take it too far and your mouth is on fire? Not to worry, as you can now cool it down with either the Twix or Mars McFlurry. Sounds like a match made in junk food heaven.
