After almost 60 years of filling the mouths and being found strewn in the coat pockets of people across the UK, Tooty Frooties have been axed by Nestlé due to their declining popularity.
The multi-coloured, chewy, fruity treats were discontinued earlier in the year and now the company has confirmed they have been axed.
Responding to a bloke called Philip on Twitter, Nestlé confirmed the news we didn't want to hear.
Their demise represents the end of an almost 60-year history. They have been on sale since 1963 and were originally made by Mackintosh's of Halifax. The company later merged with Rowntree's, which was acquired by Nestlé in 1988.

But it seems over the course of the sweet's history, its popularity has soured.
A Nestlé spokesman said: "Sweet tastes and trends change over the years and Tooty Frooties have become much less popular in the decades since their launch.
"In 2019, people prefer the jelly and foamy sweets you find in Rowntree's Randoms and that's why we've decided to concentrate on new products under the Randoms brand."

So people prefer foaminess and randomness to fruitiness in 2019 - says it all really.
Evidently though, Tooty Frooties still have a devout fan base, many of whom took to Twitter to mourn their passing.
Among those to express their dismay was TV presenter Ben Shephard.
Many others echoed his sentiment.

One person said: "Forget Brexit, this is far more upsetting...."
Another said: "@NestleUKI please tell me it isn't true you are discontinuing Tooty Frooties :sob:"
A third added: "A very sad day: my childhood is being torn apart shred by shred."
The move is part of a wider makeover of the Rowntree's range, which has seen the introduction of new branding and sharing bags. New random sweets will also be added to the Randoms range to celebrate their 10 year anniversary, including a unicorn-shaped sweet and a gnome.
