McDonald's Japan has launched a new range of summery 'McFizz' soft drinks, which are brightly coloured and bubbly - just the sort of refreshing beverage you'd want on a hot day, with three different flavours to choose from: Lemon Ginger, Blue Hawaii and Blood Orange.

They already seem to be popular with the people of Japan, who have been talking about the new range on social media. Only thing is... It's not the drink itself they're talking about, but the innovative and slightly, er, versatile packaging.

The drinks come in clear plastic cups that feature colourful designs of a male and a female. Customers can rotate the cup around to make the two designs align so that the two characters kiss, in a fun, interactive twist to staying hydrated.

It's all very cute - that is, of course, until someone tilts the cup to another angle...

While some customers are taking the opportunity to put the two characters in sweet, romantic scenarios, many others are taking a more deviant approach in what has become a bit of an online trend for social media users.

It's pretty funny, you have to admit.

Over in the UK, meanwhile, people have also got McDonald's on the mind thanks to the introduction of the chain's new spicy chicken nuggets, which were launched in stores yesterday.

On sale as part of a seven-week trial, they're be available in the UK and Ireland priced at £3.19 for six, £3.49 for nine or, if you're feeling particularly peckish (or drunk), you can pick up a box of 20 for £4.99.

So far, the online chat has been mixed, with some people preferring the new twist to an old favourite, while others say they can't taste much heat and remain traditionalists.

One tweeted: "The new spicy chicken nuggets are so peng."

A second said: "Spicy Chicken Nuggets from maccies are the one."

But someone else said: "Feeling extremely underwhelmed with these spicy chicken nuggets."

Another added: "Are my taste buds broke because they spicy chicken nuggets are not spicy???? Taste exactly like normal nuggets."

Someone else wrote: "Spicy Chicken Nuggets aren't spicy, also the spicy tomato dip it comes with is just ketchup with Tabasco in. So f***ing disappointed."

Have you given them a go yet?
